Default Whats the difference between Sprint MiFi and Apple AirPort?

From what I gather, both are wireless hotspots, except Sprint charges $60 a month to use a MiFi card on the go, whereas Apple's AirPort just works on the go to connect to a pre-existing network, correct?

So if I already pay for cell phone service with Sprint, in order to use the internet on a Macbook Pro on the go, I'd have to tether to my Blackberry's Bluetooth for free, or pay $60 extra a month? I just want the net wherever I go, for not much extra $. Any ideas?
