MAC Address- Media Access Control is the address that is assigned for your device (NIC) by the manufacturer. It is made up of 2 parts Manufacturers Identifier and the device number part. If you want to get the IP addresses of your roommates then you will have to send a RARP message to your roommates computer so that the IP can be made available to to you but even to do that you will need to know the MAC Address of you roommates, which means either way you either need the IP addresses of your roommates or the MAC Addresses or their aliases on the computer...
If you are connected through a router then issue some commands on the router to view the IPs. But save yourself all the troubles, just ask your roommates. |
