hi heres my problem. i have an old power mac g4 (agp graphics) that ive been messing with for the past few months. when i got it it didnt have an internal speaker, so i decided to put on in. however, i didnt do it the smart way and buy an official apple speaker, i just used one of my non magnetic ones from my surround sound. it worked fine for awhile, but then all of a sudden it stopped playing sound. i restarted the computer, and eventually re installed os x. no luck. now not only will the internall speaker not play sound, but when i hook my computer up to the surround sound via headphone port, there is still no sound, and in the sound menu it shows no output devices installed. any ideas?
