Why is my iMac running so slow?
My iMac is not running at the speed I think it should be. Sometimes, turning it on, the animation isn't smooth and it takes a long time to close and open windows and applications and I get the little rainbow wheel a lot.
Specs: Summer 2010 iMac 27" i7 (2.93 GHz intel core) 8 gigs of memory - 2 gigs of memory in each of the four memory slots 1 TB hard drive, about 500 gigs taken
I'm wondering how to speed it up...it's a new and powerful mac so it should't be so slow. Thanks!
