Default How do I boot to my enclosed hard drive with my Mac Book Pro?

I have a Mac Book Pro that can boot to OS X or Windows on its main drive, but I want to boot to a hard drive that was originally in my desktop computer, but is now in an external USB enclosure. I've looked at the key combinations like F8 and Cmd+Opt+Shift+Del, but none of them seem to have any effect during the boot procedure.

Also isn't there a screen that graphically shows you the drives you have connected? If you know anything about that, what's the combination for that?
