Default My boss gave me iMac. Sometimes it starts then doesn't. ?

Even when on, Mouse freezes. Question. When it does work, and it does, how can I

remove all info on iMac? Wife had password but she is in a better place. How do I, if possible, erase all data and restore the iMac. It's a I Mac G5, its 1.8 GHZ PowerPC G5. 512 MB DDR SDRAM. Startup Disk Macintosh HD. Hardware Overview: model identifier Powermac 8.1.

Do you want to erase the iMac hard disk drive completely? To do so you may run a third party Mac file eraser software like Mac wipe, but doing this will erase all the data stored on your hard disk permanently and the data would be beyond any recovery. So better take a back up of your drive. Once erased you can install OS X on it with the installation DVD which came with the iMac.
