I have a 15 month old MacBook Pro that now refuses to boot. It has had no third party hardware like RAM or a new hard drive, just mice and an external hard drive for backing up. The computer refuses to boot up, although I can hear the fans and the boot CD that I inserted spinning. The screen stays completely blank/black when I try to boot, and I checked with a flashlight, so it can't be a backlight problem. There is also no boot chime. The only signs of life are the fans, the CD drive, and the sleep light on the right side of the computer, which stays on unless I force a shutdown. Please help, because I have important files on my computer!
