Default Macbook Pro Battery Not Charge?

--It's a bit of a story, but needed to understand the situation. If you are impatient skip down to the ** to get to the important bit.--
_____

It just says 0% "Battery Is Not Charging." So I inspected the Internet to find a solution! ...yea it didn't work, still 0%.

Then I came across a forum discussion about the same topic, the guy mentioned:
"Charge remaining [mAh]" and "Full charge capacity [mAh]"

So I found out where to find these and BOTH of mine are at 0. I suppose I'm fairly lucky that my MBP is from 2007 and this is the first notable battery issue that I've had.

**So the real question is:

I know I'm probably not under Applecare, but if I buy it now... THEN take it to the Apple store, will they cover me free of charge (or at least minimal/reduced charge)?

Thank you for your time and responses.
