Default Macbook warranty question?

I just recently sent in my macbook to get repaired and there was a minor soda spill in there. By minor, i mean MINOR. Me and my friend took it apart and and cleaned up any proof that there was a spill and put it back together very carefully as it was (they will never know I was in there). While we were in there we checked for any sign of corrosion and could not find any.

My question is this. If they find any sign of liquid being in the macbook, will they just say it voids the warranty and end of story or will they actually check and see if the problem was caused by the soda spill?
