I got a Rode Videomic for Xmas, and I tried testing it out today by connecting it directly to my iPhone earphone jack. (My Moving Image Arts teacher told me to do it like this.) but the audio is turning out exactly the same - there is an annoying amount of room noise being recorded and I've attempted all of the different settings with the mic to get rid of it but nothing's changing. What am I doing wrong?
