Upgrading my Apple TV software- will a USB flash drive formatted on a pc (FAT32),
function in Apple tv? I see many ways to add functionality to ATV, but I want to be sure I don't corrupt the existing software. Note this is not illegal and surprisingly, Apple doesn't care what you add to the ATV's drive. The flash drive is converted to auto-boot, but I'm not exactly a wiz with a computer. More precisely; does the flash drive need to be formatted on an Apple computer to enable proper communication with ATV at start up?
