Well his b-day is this month and since he loves apple(he has the iphone) I was thinking of getting him something from the website. I am interested in the t.v. but I would like to know how it works? I know it says on the website, but I prefer hearing peoples side of it. What exactly does it do? What do I need for it to work? I have a dell laptop, with itunes on it, and yes I do have a regular television cause I know I read that you need to have a television but why do you need all those things? Is it really worth the money to buy it?

Apple TV is a box. You need a regular television so that you can see it (kinda like you need a monitor in order to see your computer...can't really do much if all you have is the box).

You only really need the laptop with iTunes if you want AppleTV to play stuff of your iTunes library.
