I am currently in high school, career majoring in Graphic Design. In our classroom, we have lots of iMacs and I have heard from many people that a Mac is recommended over a PC . I currently own a laptop with Vista, and I have all the same programs as I do at school: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Flash MX. I can do all the things I do at school just fine on my computer. I mean I do plan on getting a MacBook when I go to college, but I guess my real question is that why are Macs better than a PC for a field like Graphic Design?

You can get a lot more programs on it. Plus, Mac is much more geared toward creative people. My school has just made it a rule to have a Mac when coming into the art programs. It is easier to save and find projects, it comes with some basic creative programs. It generally has more memory and runs faster with the programs you are going to be using. It has a clearer screen and it adverse to most viruses. You can download all kind of programs onto it without getting viruses. Just generally more user friendly.
