Important!? I have an 8gb 1rst gen. Ipod touch. I bought it off a friend.
Here's the background to it: Before i bought it, his cousin had it. They jailbroke the ipod, and accidentally deleted the slide (unlock) button, so they had to reset the whole ipod.
After that, the ipod would turn charge, but would turn off after a dead battery, then sometimes it would charge, sometimes it wouldn't, and it was just on and off for a little while. It'd charge one day, turn on that day, but another day it'd be dead and unchargeable. You'd have to play with the ipod and press the home button a couple times to get it work sometimes.

I got it when it was on, and i locked it for a night and turned it off, the next morning I went to turn it on and it was dead. ever since then, whenever i charge it it chooses not to charge, it'll just stay at the red "charge" sign, charge won't go up or down. does it need a new battery?

If you don't have any info on the ipod, DO you know ANYWHERE where I can take the ipod so I can get it looked at? any information is a big help. Please and thanks!
