Default transferring cd to ipod?

I was under the impression that when you transfer an album from a cd to iTunes it was simultaneously put on to the iPod. Mine copies the album first, rather slowly and also starts playing the first track. After the album is transferred iTunes starts transferring it to the iPod. Is this how it works or have I got the wrong end of the stick? Also audio books are put in the music section and not in the audio books file.

iTunes imports the CD then you sync your ipod and it all goes on your ipod.

uncheck the automatic sync box, and then just copy the files you want, also you can create folders and drag and move files to it's desired position

That's how it works... unless you tell your ripping program to do that. I know with Windows Media pPlayer if you put in a CD, it automatically starts ripping the music, but you can change what it does by going into the preferences. I don't knwo which programs you have but I suggest checking out the options and check under anything that deals with the issue. I can almost assure you that your program has an option for that.

you just put the CD into the computer then it should automatically sync. and then it trasfers to ur library. also you should be able to choose what songs you want to sync.
