Default Eliminate Video Background Noise on a Mac?

Real simple question: I did some interviews on a video camera and they have some background noise. There is the interviewe and then people in talking in the back. I have iovie 06. Anything to get rid of the background. Even if I only kept the audio and not the video, could I get just the voice? Any free programs too

Unfortunately, you can't. That's the short answer. However if you have an equalizer that looks something like this (I know you've seen these before)

If it's a humming noise coming from the AC, fridge, etc. then reduce the lower frequencies. If it's more of a background hissing, then reduce the higher frequencies. Basically, it's just common sense. Hope this helps!

EDIT

Sorry, I didn't read your question thoroughly the first time. In this case, you're out of luck. Best you can do is play some Weird Al in the background and hope no one notices...
