Default Can you play HD itunes movies on a second monitor without Apple TV?
I have several HD movies, all purchased from the itunes store, on my Macbook Pro (2009). If I hooked up my mini DV adapter to a DVI to HDMI cable, and plugged the HDMI side into an external high res monitor (not an HDTV) with HDMI, would I be able to play my movies in full HD on the second monitor? Or do I need Apple TV to show any movies on a screen other than my 13 inch macbook screen? Help!

It is not possible to play such movies and I think better to watch them online

It is pretty much difficult and I suggest you to watch those movies at online.
