Default Can I put a WMA video file on a DVD and play it on a Mac?

I have a video that I edited on Windows Movie Maker and I saved it as a WMA file, I want to save it on a DVD and I need to play it on a Mac. Is that possible? Or is it best to save it as a AVI file and put it on the DVD?
