How do I upload Sony Cybershot mpeg movies to my mac?

I just bought a sony cybershot 7.2mp W80 from Bestbuy.com. I have a mac w/ osX. I finally found one of the movies I took by bringing quicktime. HOWEVER...the movie is playing VERY choppy. It skips over huge chunks of audio and video. The software that came with the camera says the "motion picture browser" is not compatible with Macintosh. What can I do?
