Default Why did almost all of my songs get deleted from my iTunes library for no reason?

Ok, so just a few minutes ago I was listening to my music on iTunes, and I went into the other room for a few minutes and my music stopped playing so I was like ''wtf''? So I come back to play my music again and iTunes closed so i re-opened it and it only has 34 songs, when I had 624 just a minute ago. So i restarted my computer and it still says the same thing. I checked the storage space it has on iTunes and my iPhone and they both say I have 3gb left out of 7gb, and my phone still has all the songs. So my iTunes library still thinks it has all the songs on it, but they're arent there... idk its really weird. So i was just wondering if there's anyway i can get all my songs back on there without having to download ALL of them again.

Default

This happens to me randomly as well, luckily I can re-add the files, but it gets to be a hassle, so hopefully someone else will pop in with an answer!

Default File eraser tool for Mac

This post is old but it brings out an important problem that might occur with any of us, So here is the solution.

Instructions
1
After refreshing your computer from a crash, you'll need to re-download iTunes. You can download iTunes from iTunes.com.

2
After following the steps to download and install iTunes, open iTunes and connect your iPod. This is VERY important....DO NOT sync your iPod. Doing so will delete all media from your iPod.

3
Instead of sync'ing, go to the toolbar at the top and select "File". From there, you'll need to select "Transfer Purchases from iPod." Music you purchased from iTunes will now be transferred to your "Purchased" folder under "Store."
