Well, after you rent the movie it goes into a new rented movies tab that appears under music and movies. Then you plug your ipod in and from this tab you should just be able to drag and drop the movie into the ipod. If you have your ipod set to auto sync I'm not sure if you can drag and drop but try it. If that doesn't work then click on your ipod so you are looking at the screen that shows the picture of the ipod and how much space is being used. Click on the movies tab, and there will be a new section on this screen for rented movies. Right now mine says that there are no movies that I can sync with my ipod b/c the movie I just rented is not completely finished downloading yet. But when it's done I'm assuming you'll just be able to select it and then hit the sync button.
