Default Why can't I record audio output with software like Audacity on a Mac running OS X

10.2.8??? I've tried Audacity, HiJack, Audio Recorder, etc. I can't select the inputs or anything...it says "default audio device" and this can't be changed in the MIDI prefs and the Sound Properties are absolutely worthless! The programs seem to be recording but do not produce any output when saved to AIFF, MP3, etc. I've spent hours working with an audio project and come to find out it's useless if I can't record it live from some onboard software so I can transfer it back to my PC. I never use Mac because there is no reason to, but in this case the software is only available on Mac. I would have been done in 10 min on a PC. I am outraged...something this simple has to be such a hassle!?! Does anyone know how I can record from this Mac without having to go out and buy an audio cable and record it from an external source (another PC! haha)? This is f'n rediculous!!! AAAAAAAAARGHHHH!!!!!

Does the version you have support OS X 10.2? That OS is outdated and Apple has quit supporting it, you should atleast upgrade to 10.3.9
